Hi Guys
Coming to Philly next month %26amp; planning on hitting Franklin Mills - don%26#39;t have a car and would prefer to get a shuttle to the Mall rather than use public transport.
Can anyone recommend a company - came a few years back and has a really great service but cannot remember the name.
Taxi seems rather expensive so thought a shuttle would be better
Thanks
matt
Shuttle to Franklin MillsUnaware of any shuttle service. Public transportation does go there. You could try contacting the mall at (215) 632-1500
Shuttle to Franklin MillsThere%26#39;s no shuttle, and it%26#39;s not worth the trip in any event. There are better prices and better selection at any department store that is having a sale, which they almost always are, especially on weekends. Try Macy%26#39;s department store, 13th %26amp; Market. You will love it.
According to philadelphiausatravel.com shuttle busses run every Wednesday, Friday, Sunday from various hotels.
%26#39;Franklin Mills offers a shuttle service that runs every Wednesday, Friday and Sunday from Center City hotels. The round trip fare is $15. Stops are at the Philadelphia Marriott at 12:30 pm and at the Sheraton Society Hill at 12:45 pm. The shuttle leaves Franklin Mills at 6:00 pm for the return trip to Center City.%26#39;
The reference was from May 2003, I would call and confirm they are still running it. If the hotels still do it, then it is worth paying the extra $10 for the shuttle than spending over an hour (one way) taking public transportation to the mall.
I would expect a cab to cost about $30 from center, so if you are with someone it may be cost effective.
In all honestly, Franklin Mills is NOT what it used to be. Most of the companies have turned their %26#39;outlet%26#39; stores into just slightly lower priced lower service version of their bigger models with less selection.
That said, if a shuttle is avail its not a bad way to kill a day I suppose :)
There are still plenty of bargins to be had in places like Saks and Neiman Marcus!
Actually, I have bought stuff cheaper at the Short Hills Neiman that at Franklin Mills. The closeouts are ok, but it doesn%26#39;t seem worth the drive and the hiking thru the mall anymore.
I am orginally from the Short Hills area %26amp; I have never found $2K Monique Lhuillier dresses for $35 in the SH Neimans like I have at Franklin Mills.
I havent seen a deal like that in ages in FM (not doubting they exist mind you). Then again, it%26#39;s the wife who does the shopping there, I just hand over the CC when she tells me.
Kentyankee ~ from someone that has been there recently, I still think it is worth a ride up.
Thanks Heather
There is 3 of us - all with vastly different clothing tastes and styles and we have been to Franklin Mills previously %26amp; it worked for us
Will check in the yellow pages when we arrive in Philly - can%26#39;t wait (just over 3 wks to go !!)
