B & Bs or small hotels near Allentown, PA

Need to be in Allentown, PA for a weekend in late October and am looking for a nice B %26amp; B or small hotel. I have stayed at the Crowne Plaza downtown in the past and am looking for something different. Ideas?

Try the Glasburne Inn, a little outside of town but nice. In my opinion the hotel scene in Allentown is not what it should be. On the West end of town by Dorney Park there are some new chain hotels that may serve you well, but it depends on where you have to be that weekend.

Just another thought, there are a few hotel suite type by the airport if you are in that part of town

Thanks for the reply. Glasburn is sold out for the weekend. I%26#39;ll be at Muhlenberg College for part of the weekend, but have no problem driving half hour or so to stay someplace more interesting than the chain hotels in town.

If you will be at Muhlenburg College. you will be in the west end of Allentown. It is a residential part of town. the closest hotels will be around the Dorney Park area of town. There is a Holiday Inn and other various chain hotels. Not a lot of choice. But if you are in that neighbohood. may I suggest some Allentown classics. There is a Farmers Market about four blocks from MC at 19th and Chew in the Fairgrounds complex/ It is not to be missed. It is a long building about two blocks long with a lot of wonderful food and carisma. It has not change in the 40 years I have been going there. Also if you want a good hot dog, Yoccos is on Hamilton St About 20th st which is on the other side of Lake Muhlenburg which is south of the campus on the other side of the park anyone can tell you how to get there a local classic

I would also suggest staying in downtown Bethlehem. It takes about 15 minutes to drive from downtown Bethlehem to Allentown. You have the Hotel Bethlehem, wonderful historic hotel; the Morningstar Inn B%26amp;B; and the Sayre Mansion B%26amp;B. All have websites you can visit. I think you%26#39;d really enjoy the ambiance of downtown historic Bethlehem.

We stayed at the Stone House Inn %26amp; Spa in Macungie. Depending on where you need to be in the Valley, you%26#39;re at most 30 minutes from everything. The owners are very nice %26amp; the property is beautiful. We greatly enjoyed it; check out my review for more details or send me a message.
