Hi all. My family and I will be staying at the Villas (the agent said it was across the street from the Galleria - 2 bedroom, 2 level unit). After reading some of these reviews, I specifically asked the agent if the Villas have been refurbished, and she stated yes. Can anyone who has been in the last few months confirm what I am in store for? Reading reviews of old dirty carpets, leaking roofs and outdated rooms has me concerned :(
I have only confirmed one night just in case it is as bad as some of the reviews I have read.
thanks for any feedback provided...
Split Rock Villas - any feedback from RECENT visitors
Hello, My husband and our 2 kids stayed there from an timeshare offer- the reviews about Mount Laurel are on target! Thank God I took it a little serious and upgraded to a newly 1-2 years built area- Willowbrook- which was nice-you had to go too two different places to get packet and keys-every other area looked to be outdated and tired- minimal done. Everything was spread out. I would not take their word for anything!
Split Rock Villas - any feedback from RECENT visitors
Hi!
Just within the hour, my husband and I returned from Westwood at Split Rock. They are the villas across from Galleria. I own a timeshare there and have never used it there. This year we decided to go there. Our unit was horrendous! I immediately called the reservation desk and they said there was no place to move us. The next morning I went to the reservation desk and they said the same thing. The place smelled, was really dark and really old! AC did not work, places where you could see the outside, we could only sit on one couch, found roaches, on and on. I slept very poorly. My husband really needed a break or we would have gone home. We spent all day out of the unit. The golf course and club house is excellent, so we spent all our time there and driving all over the area. We did enjoy our meals. We were not on any plan. The third day, I went to the sales office to complain. They of course, tried to sell me on an exchange tor Willowbrook, which is lovely. But they didn%26#39;t offer me the rest of my timeshare week there. I went back to the reservation desk and asked to see someone that is responsible for putting me in that unit. We arrived midweek and I just didn%26#39;t see the remodeled units being used and by now I had had enough and at the very lease was going to find out where and how I can give this place a blackeye! They have a timeshare mgmt office that no one had offered to me before. There I met a very helpful person that had us moved out and into a renovated unit within the hour. This place was no 5 Star unit, but had i been in this unit from the beginning, I would have been very happy. It was clean, comfortable and I got my first night of sleep in 4 days. I was very satisfied. The place itself offers a lot to do and is very relaxing. We found meals to be good - Bel Agio, Little Nick%26#39;s, Piggys, the golf course all good. We did a few breakfasts and a lunch at Galleria, and they were fine. We relaxed there after the mess and we would go there again. But they definitely will not put me in any unit that has not been remodeled again. I will specifically try to get the one we stayed in, although, I know after a year, it may have some wear, but it won%26#39;t be anything like what they first had us in.
I hope this was helpful to you. As with everything, there are good and bad. But I don%26#39;t live like the unit they first put us in and I sure am not going to vacation in something like that. There is a huge renovation going on at the Galleria and area and I am sure it will be great. Part of the charm of the place is some of the old parts. Layed back and yes, some places needing real work, but we would stay there again. With kids, I think they would have a great time. We did not use the swimming pools, we don%26#39;t use public pools period. We did not bowl, although, we did attempt to get a lane. We hiked, golfed (miniature and 18 hole regulation) lounged at the lakeside and ate! Good luck and I hope your stay is enjoyable!
Hi,
I was there for a weekend. I thought split rock was very nice. The people were friendly. The food was good at the galleria. I bought a timeshare at willowbrook at harmony lake. I didn%26#39;t stay at splitrock because we were there for a timeshare seminar and was put at the Mt. Laurel resort and spa. I thought Mt Laurel was nice. The room was clean. Splitrock was really hopping with children in the pool and it was very family friendly. Hope you have a nice time.
I hope you cancelled and stayed elsewhere.
I just returned after a one-night stay, October 2007. It was the second time in the past two years that my company has had it%26#39;s trade show here and, that being the case, we stayed in one of the villas at Split Rock.
Fabric on all of the chairs is stained and old. The kitchen looks like the kitchen in my house when I was growing up before it was remodeled - in the mid-80%26#39;s.
I asked the co-worker that I was staying with to wake me up since I didn%26#39;t trust the alarm on my day-old cell phone. That was a good idea since there turned out to be no clock in my bedroom - not even a wall clock.
And, on the subject of the bedroom, the beds are paper thin and very uncomfortable.
Overall, this place is very dated, a bit unclean and not a nice place to stay if you%26#39;re trying to enjoy this beautiful part of the country. If I were actually paying for this type of place, I%26#39;d have turned right around at the door and checked out.
Stay away!!
