Strip District Question

I grew up in the %26#39;Burg and get back occasionally to attend conferences but this time we will actually be there over the weekend...so my question is...

How crazy in the Strip District on Saturdays? We are planning some heavy-duty food shopping... What time should we get there to ensure a parking space? When do the shops open? And are we crazy to try to get breakfast at DeLucas?

Thanks for your help!

I can%26#39;t help you with how crazy it gets, it%26#39;s been awhile since I%26#39;ve been up there on a weekend. I hope the link helps with any questions.

Strip District Question

The Strip District IS INDEED crazy on Saturdays. Shops generally open 8:30 AM ish, and you do need to get there early to find a parking space. I try to go during the week, often on Friday, and certainly think twice about going on Saturday, especially in the fall months. The closer it gets to the holiday season, the wilder it is in the Strip.

That said, arrive early and have fun!

I can%26#39;t speak to breakfast at DeLuca%26#39;s from personal experience, but my guess is it will be hoppin%26#39;.

Thanks sship....when in town for conferences, I usually sneak away at lunch or stop on my way out of town. This time my husband is with me and he is dying to get to the deli counter at Penn Mac! We will be sure to get there early and I guess if DeLuca%26#39;s is packed, we can make due w/coffee and biscotti...

Ahhhh, the deli counter at Penn Mac. Well, that will be loads of fun on a Saturday, but, if you persevere, it%26#39;s worth it. Undoubetdly you will see Dear Heart...who is actually a friend of mine. I love the whole store, don%26#39;t you? I love getting bulk olive oil there, and, in fact, I need to make a trip myself (about 15 miles for me).

Oh! And I meant to say - if DeLuca%26#39;s doesn%26#39;t work out, try LaPrima (handy to Penn Mac) or Enrico%26#39;s, which is also nearby.

Thanks for the other breakfast suggestions...we will definitely be there early as we have to be back in Canonsburg for a birthday party at 1:00 PM and I will probably try to hit Kaufmann%26#39;s (oops...Macy%26#39;s) awesome shoe dept downtown as well.

Penn Mac is my FAVORITE place on the Strip...well, maybe next to Mancini%26#39;s Bread! I love Enrico%26#39;s biscotti, too. We used to be able to get it in our little coffee shop down the street but they stopped carrying it :-(

You%26#39;re KILLIN%26#39; me here - the shoe department at Kaufmann%26#39;s? I used to live there when I worked downtown, LOL!
