Coming black Friday Weekend Can I fit this all in?

Hello

We will be staying at the Best Western Revere. We have plans to visit Hershey Park , Dutch Wonderland and Cherry Crest farm. Will we be able to do this all in 2 days ? That does not include some shopping. Is there anything we should or should not do.

Thanks.

I just checked Cherry Crest Farm%26#39;s website, and it looks like it will not be open Black Friday weekend. It looks like the last weekend is 11/2 %26amp; 3. With 2 days, I would probably choose either Dutch Wonderland OR Hershey Park, but not both. How old are the children in your group? The younger set will enjoy Dutch Wonderland possibly more, but Hershey is really nice at Christmas also. Many of Hershey%26#39;s kiddie rides will be open. Regardless of children%26#39;s ages, I would probably choose Hershey. You could devote one day to Hershey and the other one to shopping.

Have a good trip.

Thank you !

I think I will go with Hershey. The ages are mixed from 12 - 8

Hi,

I think the age range of the kids is definitely more conducive for Hershey. As I had said before, you will find more kiddie rides open than ';thrill rides,'; but they will enjoy the Reese%26#39;s Cup Challenge, the Pirate Ship, The Flying Falcons, and just walking around the park. They also have a Christmas show in their indoor theater. They also open the classic rides such as the monorail, train, and kissing tower. In a few more weeks, hersheypark.com should have a list of rides that are open for the holiday season. There%26#39;s always Chocolate World. Kids and Adults like the tour, and the shop at the end has every kind of candy imaginable!

Have a great time.

Tammy, I%26#39;m not sure if you%26#39;ve visited the Strasburg Railroad before. I couldn%26#39;t find it mentioned in your reviews. The kids would love riding on the train and visiting the shoppes, the PA RR Museum and the Choo Choo Barn, which is right down the street. The train is running on weekends only in Nov. Anyway, enjoy your time at HP.

Steve

Thank you both for your suggestions.

Just another note about the Pennsylvania Railroad Museum in Strasburg. It seems like it%26#39;s really expensive, but they now have a hands-on section for kids to play with all kinds of model trains...the Brio sets, the Fisher-Price Geo-Trax, and some real model sets for older kids. It was definitely worth the money. You%26#39;ll be able to get to Strasburg easily from the Best Western Revere--we wished that we had stayed there!

I really wanted to try the Revere. I was at the Eden last time and I was disappointed , because I had a room near the highway. I think the Revere will be great for us. My sister in law can%26#39;t get into the Eden or the Revere and I suggested the Hilton Garden inn . They want an indoor pool , because this may suit their taste. I really am staying put at the Revere. I did not want to deal with a hotel near the highway again, well I am assuming that about the Hilton garden inn? It does get good reviews. any opinions on that?

tmoo: The Hilton Garden Inn is just about 2 miles from my house. It is a very nice place to stay. When my family comes to town I usually put them up at the Hilton or at the Fairfield Inn across the street. My parents prefer the Fairfield. My brothers and sisters the Hilton. (The Fairfield only has an outdoor pool and therefore less kids than the Hilton. My nieces and nephews of course want the indoor pool)

If you are at the Revere it is an EASY drive from one place to the other. The Hilton is situated right at Route 30 which takes you from one hotel to the other with no turn offs. It is a straight shot. BUT, and this is a BIG but....The day after Thanksgiving, the traffic is going to be insane on Route 30. Your at the outlet end of route 30 and the Hilton is at the Park City end (the big mall around here). On a Sunday morning no traffic the drive between the two may be 15 - 20 minutes. On black Friday you could be sitting on route 30 for hours.

Last year I made the huge mistake of asking my husband to go down to the outlets with me on black Friday, for a killer deal on an MP3 player our son wanted for Christmas. While sitting in traffic this thought actually came into my head ';well, I%26#39;ve had 21 good years with this man, sorry to see it end!!!) My husband was so p*ssed!!! I thought he was going to drive over the cement medium to get home. He finally drove on the shoulder to an exit, went a back way home, stopped at an ATM machine and handed me $30 (the amount I would have saved had I gotten the MP3 player) and he said ';I love you but please don%26#39;t ever do that to me again.'; So...good luck.

tmoo, enjoy your visit at the revere inn. I%26#39;m supposed to be in the area at the same time, and I couldn%26#39;t get my 2 room suite for that weekend at the revere,(and I had to have that type of room this time), so I have 2 reservations, one for the eden, and one for the courtyard. they have the suites. I%26#39;m paying a lot more than the revere, and I%26#39;m further out. I%26#39;m so excited about going, but I might have to cancel everything. I%26#39;m in the middle of major surgery, and ,may be scheduled for my second operation just around that time, so I might be giving up some rooms....I won%26#39;t know until the first week of november, but to those who are looking for rooms, some just might become available that week in both the eden, and courtyard. if anyone is hoping to get rooms that weekend, email me, and I%26#39;ll let you know if the rooms are opening up. I actually have 2 2 room suites, and one regular room in each place, as we are supposed to be a large group going, and everything is dependent on my health right now.

Justcallmemom- thanks for the information. I guess they will be good with the hilton Garden inn.

Mittmott- thanks for letting me know. I hope you will be able to go!
