italian

I am in the city for the week with my wife. Is La Fontana a good place or should I try another?

Thanks for your help.

I have not been there, but have heard just OK reviews of the restaurant. It%26#39;s BYOB. There are so many Italian restaurants in Philadelphia and the Rittenhouse Square area (where La Fontana Della Citta is located) boasts many BYOB choices - Melograno, Porcini, Branzino, La Viola, Valentino, the new Salento, amongst others. There are even more options if you want an Italian in the same neighborhood that boasts a liquor license - Ernesto%26#39;s, D%26#39;Angelo%26#39;s, Gioia Mia, Davio%26#39;s. I%26#39;m probably forgetting a few as well.

If I were only eating at one Italian restaurant in Philly, I%26#39;d probably take a cab and opt for one of the South Philly restaurants (Mezza Luna is my favorite.) If I were staying in the Rittenhouse Square area, I%26#39;d probably head over to Melograno, Porcini, or check out Salento. I also like Ernesto%26#39;s if you don%26#39;t want to bring your own liquor. Perhaps another poster has actually been there (I%26#39;m commenting on hearsay from a friend of mine who has eaten there a few months back, in the spring.) Good luck and let us know if you have additional questions.
