This Weekend in Lancaster, PA

I%26#39;ll be in Lancaster, PA with the wife and our 13-month old daughter this weekend (from Saturday late morning to Monday late afternoon). It is our first time to Lancaster, PA so we would appreciate any suggestions for our itinerary. Since most places are closed on Sundays, we figured we would take the little one to Dutch Wonderland and maybe the Country Barn Farm (to do some pumpkin picking) on Sunday, but are wondering what we should do on Saturday and Monday. We are not huge shoppers, so the outlets are not that big of a draw for us, but we do like the quaint, smaller stores that sell antiques and other collectibles and enjoy pedestrian-only type areas with cafes, small stores, and the cobblestone streets, as well as open/farmer markets. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated!

Lititz, not too far from Lancaster has it%26#39;s annual ';Chocolate Walk'; this weekend on Saturday, 10-4pm. Many chocolate makers plus Wilbur Buds (better than Hershey%26#39;s)/Sturgis Pretzels, is a neat little town to visit.

The area around Lancaster Central Market would fit the bill for Sat. The market itself is open til 2 on Saturdays and is well worth a visit. Around the market there is a very small area where cars are not allowed with cobblestone streets, a few restaurants and some cute shops. Also there are a lot of great shops in downtown Lancaster that sell antiques and collectibles among other things. You might also enjoy Rachel%26#39;s Creperie (closed Sun/Mon) on the 300 block of N. Queen St. They have a few outdoor cafe tables and the whole place has a very French feel to it. There%26#39;s also Zap %26amp; Co next door to Rachel%26#39;s that sells some really interesting and unique vintage stuff. Actually, the whole 300 block of N. Queen street is very interesting and unique (well, minus the construction going on at the one end).

Have fun!!

Sunday is a great time to visit the Adamstown area of the county. That is when all the antiques markets are open. Not sure how much fun that is for a 13 month old, but it is suppose to be great weather and Shupps grove is an excellent outdoor venue. Black Angus has the upper end stuff and if you like beer is a great place to also get a brewery tour and taste some award winning beer. If beer is your thing, I would check out the Union Barrel to have dinner and taste the beer there. It is in Reamstown, A hop from Adamstown. If you want idirections or more info contact me at Carol@realty1.com and I will get that to you.
