Dueling Piano Bar?

I thought I heard that the dueling piano bar had returned to Philadelphia. My wife and I are celebrating her b-day this Saturday and I would love to take her to it if it is indeed back. Any info would be greatly appreciated. We%26#39;re staying at the Sheraton on Race (formerly the Wyndham I believe) and having dinner at Matyson (BYOB on 19th) anyone know about the piano men???

Dueling Piano Bar?

There is a great piano bar on Arch St %26amp; 19th called Cascamorto. It opened just about one year ago. Not dueling pianos though, so I am not sure if that is the one you are refering to. However, it is super close to where you will be dining.

I am personally going to Matyson in a couple of weeks ~ wonderful place!

Dueling Piano Bar?

Years ago - when I was in college - there was a place on Market Street around 8th or 9th Street called ';Market Street Live'; (I believe, if memory serves me correctly!) They had a variety of bars under one roof and I recall the dueling piano bar was a big hit.

I am interested in Cascamorto and hoping to get there one evening in the near future (dueling pianos or not!)

Hi Suzanne ~

Try to make it there on a Friday night. The pianoman is great!

Heather

heather,

Is this just a lounge type piano bar or sing a long raucous type piano bar?

Also, have you heard of Jolly%26#39;s and do you know anything about it?

Dad~

It is a a lounge. There are a couple of seats around the piano that people can sit at. Only the pianoman sings. Will accept requests, but does not allow people to sing with him or by themselves.

I am sorry - I have never been to Jolly%26#39;s, so I am not sure what it is like.

Hey Heather, etc.

I am Steve Odabashian. I play piano/sing at Cascamorto on Fridays during happy hour (my shift goes from 5 til 8:30). It is DEFINITELY a sing-a-long place. I have the mic, but it is much more fun for everyone if other people jump in and sing. Sometimes, people come up and sing. It is definitely not karaoke. But I encourage audience participation.

It is a fun time.

Come by and introduce yourself.

AND - we pay for your cabfare to the place from anywhere within Philadelphia. ANYWHERE.

Hi Steve!

It%26#39;s nice to meet you! I don%26#39;t think we have ever made it there that early to hear you sing ( I think Mike?? is there). We will definitely have to take a walk down to hear you. Thank you for your tip that you do encourage sing along ~ as we have never experienced any singing, however I know my husband would love to!

Is this place anywhere near the crown plaza?

It%26#39;s just a couple blocks away from the Crowne Plaza, which is located at 18th and Market. The bar is at 19th and Arch, one block down and over from Market.

Suzanne

Heather -

So glad to see you%26#39;ve become a Local Expert.
