Hershey alternatives

I am planning at the last minute a weekend stay with my 8 yr. old daughter in Hershey the last weekend in October for the Halloween events. Most of the hotels in Hershey are either booked or outrageously expensive....for what you get. I would greatly appreciate any recommendations for quality hotels in the surrounding areas. Preferably within 10 miles of Hershey.

I would try the Super 8 Motel at 7500 Allentown Blvd., Harrisburg. They offer a free continental breakfast and have an indoor pool. It is an easy 10 minute drive to Hershey.

Try the Holiday Inn Grantville/Hershey. It is located about 7 miles north of hershey on Route 743, about a 10-15 minute ride. It is a very nice hotel, with two pools and a restaurant and bar. However, when driving at night, there will be virtually nothing in sight when driving on 743. Even though there is nothing for about 6 miles, you are going the right way!!

I also recommend the Holiday Inn in Grantville. Right near there is a very good Italian restaurant called Villa Rose plus a farmer%26#39;s market on Friday and Saturday on Rt. 743. It is clean and very nice. If you can%26#39;t get in there, on Rt. 39 near Rt 81, there is a Country Suites.

At the next exit, there are several chain hotels such as Holiday Inn Express and others. That would be about a 15 minute ride to Hershey.
