Train Station?

After our visit to Philly we will be taking an Amtrak train to Pittsburg to visit family. Where is the train station in relation to downtown and the historic district?

A quick geographic orientation to the city: Center City is bounded by two rivers, the Delaware on the east and the Schuykill on the west, about 2 miles river to river. The historic district is near the Delaware on the eastern side and the train station (30th Street Station) is on the Schuykill just across from Center City. Click on the Philadelphia Maps in the left-hand column on this page, then choose the Accessmap. You%26#39;ll see the the 30th Street Station at the end of JFK Blvd on the western bank of the river.
